Andrews University - New Entrance Road, Berrien Springs, MI

The new entry road builds an image for the University and improves traffic into the campus. |
- New entrance to the University is a consolidated access point for the campus. It involved abandonment of private and public roads and utilities to construct the entrance and direct traffic from other secondary entrances to the new entrance.
- The new entrance location and configuration were coordinated with MDOT and provisions are being made for a future widening of US 31 and the installation of a traffic signal.
- The design includes a four-lane boulevard with a curb and gutter, entry structures, a sign, gate house, building and architectural site lighting and cameras.
- Water & sewer extensions were completed and stormwater will be collected and directed to an expanded infiltration basin.
- The campus is an arboretum so minimum trees could be removed. Landscaping and irrigation were a part of the project.
