Renovation and adaptive reuse of a 51,000-square-foot, five-story warehouse.
  • Before work began a fire in the building required checking the structure for change in load capacity.
  • To enhance the renovation to mixed-use office and retail facility, a design was developed in which floors were cut and opened up for a large entry atrium. This required lateral support of the existing brick walls with bridges and z-bars.

Journey Lutheran Church Day Care Facility, New Buffalo, MI

Journey school

Journey Lutheran is a mission church in New Buffalo which has identified the need for more faith-based child care services in the area.  They intend to fill this need with a new center capable of caring for over 50 children.  The design of the building is complete and we are working to resolve a right-of-way conflict identified early in the project by our latent survey team.  Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2011.
