911 Call Center Elkhart County, IN

The new, 9,000 sq. ft. Call Center contains state-of-the-art communications capabilities.
  • A modified design/build form of project delivery was used.
  • A project manual containing all processes plus bid information, specifications, contracts, sample bonds, soils reports, room requirements, and surveys was also developed for the project. The manual was used to provide design/build firms with a clear description of the scope of work thus ensuring comparable bids. The specifications were performance oriented, allowing the contractor the flexibility to value engineer the project, resulting in a very high grade product for the price.
  • The project was completed several months prior to the original October 2005 deadline.

Wastewater Collection & Treatment System,
Porter Township, MI


Serves 1400 customers around 6 lakes and the town of Union.
  • In just 3 months using critical path management a treatment plant site was acquired, the collection system and plant were designed and bids were received.
  • Even though the service area was expanded over 5 miles during the project, the bids for the project were $13,000 under the estimates prepared in the study and all permits including the NPDES and Part 41were obtained on time.
  • The connections to the system were phased with the construction and startup of the plant and all customers were connected within 90 days of having service available.
  • The project cost was $17,150,000.

Hartford City Hall and Police Station, Hartford, MI

This new 5,180-square-foot building to houses the City’s offices and the Police Department.
  • The building includes a partial basement, a conference room to conduct various Council and Commission meetings.
  • This project was funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development

Industrial Park Treatment Train Dowagiac, MI

The treatment train consists of three cells: a sediment cell, an infiltration cell and 3.5 acres of newly created wetland.
  • The city wanted to extend its roadway, water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer to its growing industrial park.  The work included 8,500 linear feet of curbed bituminous roadway, 9,600 linear feet of 12-inch water main, 8,000 linear feet of sanitary sewer, and 7,000 linear feet of storm sewer varying in size between 12 and 30 inches. 
  • The treatment train has been heralded by MDEQ and is being shown as a prudent manner of treating storm water before it enters a trout stream.  The wetlands have a waterfowl island, wet pond and a micro-pool.

Bridgman City Hall, Police and Fire Station, Bridgman, MI

Construction and renovation of the existing 6,400-square-foot City Hall/
Police and Fire Station and a 2,700- square-foot expansion.
  • The building includes Offices for the administrative staff, Police and Fire departments
  • The apparatus room was expanded to house the emergency vehicles and locker room facilities were added.

Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians Community Center


The Community Center is intended to serve as a central gathering space for meetings, parties, celebrations, and other uses to benefit tribal citizens.  The location was chosen to minimize impact to the property.  The Community Center will be constructed of natural materials and is designed to meet the standards for LEED Silver Certification.  As a part of this project, 7.8 acres will also be planted with native prairie grasses.
